These Murano beads are handmade on the island of Murano, within the venetian lagoon in Italy. The glass makers here are regarded worldwide as masters of their craft.

Not all Murano glass, but a lot of Murano glass is lined with 24k yellow gold, white gold or sterling silver foil/leaf, which adds to the beauty of the glass.

Colours may differ slightly from monitor to monitor as not all screen resolutions are set the same.

Due to the nature of the glass, no two pieces are ever quite the same so you can be sure you're wearing something special.

The photo is a representation of what you will receive in earring style. The earrings will arrive nicely presented in a gift box.

These earrings are handmade by myself.

Gold filled jewellery comprises a solid layer of gold (14k) permanently pressure bonded to a base metal, such as brass. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating. Gold filled jewellery is much more valuable than jewellery that is gold plated.

In order for something to be considered gold filled, it must have a gold content of at least 1/20th the total weight of the item.

It is very hard wearing and under normal wear the gold will not peel or flake, unlike gold plate. It won’t tarnish and will not rub off or turn colours.

Gold filled jewellery can be worn daily without fear of fading or rubbing off. 14k gold fill jewellery, providing proper care is carried out, can last a lifetime.

Wearers who are sensitive to certain metals can wear gold filled without worries of an allergic reaction.

It is commonly used as a more affordable alternative to pure gold as although a gold filled piece of jewellery is not solid gold, it has the same desirable properties and look of solid gold.To ensure gold filled jewellery stays looking lovely, it’s best to keep treatment simple – by gently polishing with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. It’s important to note that many chemicals marked for cleaning jewellery can be abrasive and damage 14k gold filled jewellery.
