Despite what its name implies, there is no gold in Goldstone. Goldstone is a man-made glass infused with copper particles. The addition of Cobalt results in the deep shimmery Blue Goldstone. Because glass is made from quartz sand (silica), Goldstone has found its way into the healing community.

Goldstone is actually produced in a variety of colors - Reddish brown, dark green, dark blue and dark purple Goldstone.

Reflections from the metallic crystals within the Goldstone attract attention and give Goldstone its sparkling appearance.

By the very nature of sterling silver, there is no way to protect it from tarnishing because sterling silver reacts with so many materials found in everyday life. The best way to reduce tarnish build-up is to actually wear your sterling silver jewellery often. When sterling silver is not worn it tarnishes quickly. Unavoidable I'm afraid, but perfectly normal and nothing to be concerned by, and it can easily be removed with a silver polishing cloth or polishing cream.
